The story
Sony Music Head office is located in the Adam Tower, one of the most iconic and highest buildings in Amsterdam, just behind central station. Space encounters designed a luminaire free ceiling with no glare and high uniform light distribution. Above the ceiling were tailor-made RGBW pixel controlled LED strips installed with a 24 cm pitch and 10 cm above the diffused ceiling.
Around 7500 pixels were installed to guarantee a high light output because the lighting is not only used for mood lighting but also for general lighting. This daring concept gives the Sony Music office its unique look and feel. At the lobby desk is a trigger button in stalled that triggers a special show when VIP guests enter their office. Sony gives its clients not a warm welcome but a rather spectacular one.
